Privacy policy.

This policy explains how Makinah handles information for its website studio at makinah.ai and Makinah Social Studio, our tool for managing authorised social accounts.

1. Who to contact

Makinah is the website studio responsible for the activities described here. Use our contact form for privacy questions or requests. Write “Privacy request” in your message and include an email address where we can reply.

2. Information we handle

  • Enquiries and projects: your name, business name, email address, phone number, links, messages and materials you provide, together with our correspondence and project records.
  • Public business information: business listings, contact details, website and social links, photographs and published reviews used to research businesses and prepare website previews. Reviews may include the reviewer's first name and initial. We do not use reviewer profile photos in our websites.
  • Connected social accounts: when an authorised operator connects Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest, we receive the account identifiers, names, available publishing destinations and permissions supplied by that platform. Destinations may include Pages, professional Instagram accounts, organisations, channels and boards. We store access and refresh tokens, app credentials, selected destinations, content prepared for publishing, published post identifiers and delivery results.
  • Technical information: our hosting and security services process network and request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, request times and errors, to deliver and protect the service. Signed-in services use session information to keep users authenticated.

We do not ask for social-network passwords in Social Studio. Connections use the relevant platform's authorisation process. Access depends on the permissions you approve and the features you use.

3. Why we use it

We use this information to respond to enquiries, assess business fit, prepare and deliver websites, manage projects, authenticate operators, connect the destinations they select, publish authorised content, report publishing results, maintain security and resolve problems. Social Studio currently supports Makinah's own authorised publishing workflow.

Website research and production may use automated and AI-assisted tools. Relevant business materials and content may be processed by our production providers to research, draft, build or check a website or post. Social account access tokens are not included in content-generation prompts. We do not use Google or YouTube account data to train general-purpose AI models.

We do not sell personal information or use connected account data for advertising targeting. Private prospect previews are not published as social posts. Client work is used in our public portfolio only with permission; fictional concept designs are labelled as concepts.

4. Sharing and service providers

Authorised Makinah operators and service providers process information needed to run the studio. These include Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security and email delivery, and production providers used to research and create content. Providers may process information in countries other than yours.

When you authorise a post, its text, images or video and necessary publishing metadata are sent to the selected social platform. Media prepared for social publishing may be available through a public media URL so the platform can retrieve it. Published content is subject to the destination's visibility settings and policies.

We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to investigate abuse, protect the service or establish or defend legal claims.

5. YouTube and Google data

Social Studio uses YouTube API Services when YouTube is connected. It accesses channel identifiers, names and handles to identify the publishing destination, and uploads the videos and associated titles and descriptions authorised by the operator. It stores connection tokens, channel details and upload results to support that connection.

Google's processing is explained in the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke access at any time through Google's account permissions page. You can also request deletion of data held by Makinah using the process below. Revoking access does not itself remove videos already uploaded to YouTube.

6. Cookies and external resources

Authentication and security features may use cookies or similar session technologies. The public studio pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives the technical information needed to deliver them. Links to external websites take you to services with their own privacy policies. Our studio pages do not run an advertising network.

7. Storage and protection

We retain information while needed for the purposes above, including active projects and account connections, support, security and applicable recordkeeping obligations. We review deletion requests and remove information that is no longer needed, subject to lawful retention requirements.

Social app secrets and access tokens are encrypted in our database. Access to the factory is restricted to authorised operators, and web connections use HTTPS. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and data deletion

You can ask to access, correct or delete information held by Makinah, object to further contact, or withdraw permission for optional uses. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable law.

  1. Open our contact form and write “Data deletion request”.
  2. Identify the relevant business, project or connected platform and account name or public profile URL. Include a reply email so we can verify the request. Do not send passwords, tokens or identity documents in the form.
  3. We will respond to verify ownership, explain any information we must retain and confirm the outcome. We handle requests within applicable legal and platform deadlines.

Operators can disconnect a network in Social Studio's Accounts section to remove its stored connection. You can separately revoke Makinah's permissions in the platform's connected-app or business-integration settings. Disconnecting stops future access through that connection; it does not delete already published posts, project files or publishing records. Include these in your deletion request if you want them reviewed for removal.

For Facebook and Instagram, remove Makinah Social Studio from the relevant Meta app or business integration settings and use the same request process above to delete information retained by us. For YouTube, use Google's permissions page to revoke access.

9. Children

Our studio and social publishing tools are intended for business users and authorised adult operators, not children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Where a change requires new permission, we will seek it before using information for that new purpose.
